Michel Rodrigue : Drawing for Comics

Take the opportunity to meet on of France’s most popular and most successful comic book illustrators Michel Rodrigue (Clifton – Black Moon, Clifton – Jade).
Artist Michel Rodrigue was born in Lyon, France, on April 1, 1961. All his life he’s had a passion for sports and drawing. One highlight of his career was to create the official mascot for the first rugby World Cup in 1987. Working with Bom, he drew "The Conspirateurs," a series of gags for the Tintin magazine until he succeeded René Pellos in producing three albums of "Les Pieds Nickelés," a humorous series about rugby and European football. In 1999, he published through Lombard the first of three albums of "Doggyguard," a series of short comic stories written by Bob de Groot. In 2003, still with de Groot, he took up the story of "Clifton" for four albums. Two years later, with his friend, actor Pierre Aucaigne, he "adopted" the big, kind dog "Cubitus," which was originally drawn by Dupa.
At present, Michel Rodrigue is working as a writer on two new projects, both dealing with fantasy stories; one is illustrated by René Haussman and the second by various Italian artists. He is currently staying in Edinburgh and learning English while working on a comic on Scottish myths and fairytales
